trying to get a feel for how I'll lay out the components. On the right is the 2000 watt inverter and 1 of the battle born batteries (I have 2). The left side has the mppt solar controller, lynx distribution bar, and bottom right is the 12volt, 30 amp dc/dc charge controller, and the black box is the ac/dc distribution panel. - 20220803 165051 resized
I'm going to make boxes to help contain/protect the stuff above, and I have the boxes to have mitered (45 degree joints on the corners). as any woodworker will tell you, this is a PITA to do well. Going to try and see how well the Festool track saw does. - 20220803 165054 resized
I did cheat and miter one end with my sliding miter saw, but the miter saw is miserable to try and cut the other bevel at an exact spot. It tends to be trial and error. Just keep trimming a little until i get it right. With the track saw, you can measure and mark the line. simply law the track on the mark and cut - 20220803 165102 resized

boxes are made and now trying to get a feel for how I'll lay things out. boxes are 16" wide, 24" long, and this one is 8.5 " deep with 1.25" inches wasted on the back. 1/2 inch for the back panel and 3/4" more for a mounting board. - 20220806 114721 resized
the small box at top will only be for the battery switch, solar shut off switch and battery monitor. - 20220806 114727 resized

gantries for the lines that will go to the alternator or chassis ground - 20220806 115400 resized
using pvc pipe to route the wires between the boxes. the open space in the middle is for bikes, and my rear tire will be up against that wall. so with the wheel shape, the pipes won't block the rear bike wheel shape at all. - 20220806 115406 resized
inside view of the pipe cutouts. the pipes will be trimmed to be flush. but I cut things long for the photo, will trim later. - 20220806 115441 resized
the inverter box is tight., but the vent holes are cut strategically for venting the heat - 20220806 120844 resized
the ac/dc distribution panel will go over the mppt charge controller. - 20220806 161452 resized
epoxying the edges that will contact the electric panel wall. so it won't suck up water and rot. - 20220806 161502 resized
Swiss cheese. I have black 3" diameter soffit vent covers for the larger holes. the smaller holes will have pipes, conduit or gantry rubber grommets that keep water out.
